It is part of a body of work that I exhibited in 2008 at Everard Read gallery in Johannesburg. It focuses on the notion that nothing is permanent and everything is in a constant state of change. We plant flags or erect monuments to state our claim or rule considering it to be from here on forever. I found this very true whilst making the odd monument for governments.
